Cracked Trim

Hello all!  When I picked up my bike in April there was a piece of cracked trim on the left side of the headlight(bit with Ducati on it). The dealer, Aylesbury Ducati were initially spot on after I sent pics but contact dwindled to the point where I was ignored and now theres just tumbleweed blowing around!  As this is my first,but definately not last Ducati is this what the dealers are generally like and would it take 3+ months to source the part??  Your Ducati wisdom would be most appreciated

Bungster  - probably something to do with the Ducati warehouse move slowing down the supply logistics . I was knocked off by a SMIDSI last year and the bike required quite a few panels  - including the part you are trying to source -  they were sourced by the Bristol  dealer very quickly . You can always contact Ducati direct by e mail just indicating that you are getting little response from the dealer - I approached them once last year and they were very responsive

Yep - the incident was a year ago now and it caused about £5k of repairs which the dealer fixed in about 4 weeks in total - so I was reasonably impressed . All good as new afterwards . I also had to use the Ducati recovery line at the time -  which linked in with AA recovery and it all worked well. Just for reference I did not have crash bars fitted at the time but now do ! The Ducati pannier on one side took a hit and needed replacing but did save damage to the rear side of the bike that might have been more expensive

From what you say it seems that fitting bars is worthwhile!  I did that on my explorer mainly because it was such a heavy, and easy to drop bike but the MTS is so balanced and easy to paddle, perhaps a rethink is required!

I agree with Buzzardbilly. most probably the reason is new warehouse (in co-sharing with Lamborghini) that doesn't work well at the moment. I know that also Italian dealers a getting crazy!
Last week my dealer got, after 1 month, a Ducati backpack instead of Termignoni exhaust for an MTS 1260!

I ordered bike and accessories in jan 2018 , had the touring pack turn up 3 weeks ago .. still waiting for the ducati heated grips to show up , dealer said they'll be here before winter !! also said they'd be here for the 1st service in april so i'm not holding my breath !!!

Not sure if this is coincidental but i rang ducati hq in bologna to raise a concern about the lack of forecast for parts ,  3 weeks later the touring pack turned up

Well, at the beginning of June, my dealer got a right-hand side black beak panel in a matter of three or four days. Guess it’s a case of who you know!

The warehouse I read should be getting back to "normal" now  However we're heading in to holiday season when a lot of Italian factories shut down so that will delay things a couple of weeks at least

I should think you can write-off the whole of August
