    Hi All
just been reading another ducati forum and found this
    Hi all,
another nice news on the M950. Ducati is holding the delivery of some of these bikes and is recalling some already delivered for replacing the fuel tank. A stock of fuel tanks, in production since three years already, has having fuel leak from the junction with the fuel quantity sensors.

From what I've read this was for the 1200 and mainly on a few italian bikes for the italian market. I know many parts are from the 1200 but the tank is not the same, is it?? Doubt this would affect any UK/US 950's, I'm sure it's something they've known about for a while and even then only on a relatively small number of bikes.

Been in touch with my Dealer today about the recall, and yes he does know about the recall as the demo bike petrol tank has to be changed,
And he has also ordered Three more spare tanks just in case any more bikes have this problem

Ooops, I stand corrected then  :038:

Maybe some of the internal components of the tank are the same as the 1200.

Did the dealer say whether this would affect delivery dates or would tanks simply be replaced once they come in ?

He said that they would check the id number on the bike, some where you can check this yourself with your id or frame number I believe

My dealer is aware of the tank recall and have spare tanks at the ready. He says bikes get checked for this recall during PDI and changed if required.  Interestingly he said 2 of the new bikes that were collected yesterday did need the tank changing. Not sure yet if mine also needs to be changed ahead of collection tomorrow.

That's good to know that they are on top of it, as for Murf 46 saying that his dealer said it needs a Software update. I thought all updated were done at the dealership on there computer otherwise you will have to keep sending it back to Italy.
Hope all goes well for tomorrow mate

If you already have a bike then I believe you can check your bike on the Ducati website here:

    http://www.ducati.it/servizi/campagne_richiami/index.do

Quite possible that this is not a recall but might be classed as a Technical Service Bulletin.

At least the dealers seem to be on top of it and seem to have the revised tanks in stock.
