    Hello
We have been in the area before and are aware of the B500 but does anyone have any good knowledge and tried and tested scenic/good twisty routes that they can recommend for motorcycles. Travelling from Ijmuden Ferry down to 1st night Trier, then 3 nights in Freudenstadt, then 1 night in Cochem and spending last night in possibly Ghent/ Antwerp or somewhere around that are- although plan can be flexible. The idea was to ride out each day from Freudenstadt and do some good touring instead of rushing to get different places each night. All advice shall be greatly appreciated from any other bikers with good knowledge of sights, roads, bier gardens and any tips or hints from previous experiences. Thank you.

I don't know where the B500 gets its reputation from because I found it a bit dull. Mind you that was coming back from touring the Alps so it had a lot to live up too  :001:

At one stage on the B500 we ended up down some back roads (can't remember why) and that was loads more fun and surprisingly "rural"  :008: Sorry I can't be more specific  :305:
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

I have done the B500 twice I don't know where all the hype comes from hope you enjoy it .

Cochem is a great little place.
The Black Gate in Trier is worth a visit

I lived in Trier for a few years back in the late 80's and there were plenty of nice roads for my Norton 850 Commando. Sorry I can't remember route numbers but I just used to follow the Moselle and cross over the hills on either side and found good riding, great beer and tasty wine!
