    Changing lock on top box

    Hi.
Has any one changed the lock on their topbox to the Ducati one that was supplied when the bike was new? I understand the Ducati topbox is a Givi V47 that has a security lock, I have bought a V46 that also has a security lock. Any help gratefully received.

I went ahead to change the lock over. First thing as I pulled the old lock out some of the key plates and springs dropped out the lock, please be careful if you have to remove the lock. Then after a  patience testing game I put the plates back in  the right order (after many permutations). Then I find the lock supplied with the bike does not fit in the V46, the hole is too small a further  difference is a screw is needed to  keep the Ducati lock in place, whilst there is a thread on the end of the Give V46 that has a nut to keep the lock in place.
Do not try this at home kids we cannot fly!

Thanks for the report. I bought a Givi V47 but have been putting off the lock swap as my fingers are too fat and scarred to do fiddly tasks like that. I think now I will put it off a bit longer :086:
