dash board readout

Just had a notice come up on the dashboard saying "Service Date" Does this mean I am due a service, I have done just over 7000 miles, or I need to book one? Is it right that the "big" service is due around 9000 miles? If so then having it serviced now seems a waste of time to me!

I believe it’s programmed by the dealer to notify you one year after being previously serviced. The only way to avoid having it appear is to roll back the calendar setting before it comes up.

Thanks Moto, been on to the dealer this morning and booked a service. It seems I'm just a month or so overdue!
