First service followed by suspected oil leak

I got the first service done last Wednesday with no apparent issues. However yesterday I noticed a definite oil patch under the bike. I couldn't see any actual leak so it could be old oil from when the service was done that had got into the belt pan of similar. I have to stress that where I have to keep the bike is not flat. It slopes in 2 different directions so inspecting the sight glass is at best indicative and not to be relied on. Running the engine on the centre stand didn't throw up any alarms so when I can next get the bike out and onto somewhere flat I'll check again. If I am losing oil through the drain plug I'll be getting on to the dealer for sure.

    S-westerly,
Just for your info,  when your warranty period finishes,  there is a good mechanic in Cheltenham who specialises in Ducati's  - Tim Hyatt. I have not tried him yet but a few people have recommended him to me . I intend to go there next year as it it a lot closer for me that going down to Riders

Thanks for that info. I'll certainly be interested in using him come June 2020 when my warranty expires. Can't say I am super -impressed with Rider's. Got the impression they were more into Harley's. Also Cheltenham is only 10 miles from me which is way closer than Bristol.

Be interested to get the contact details for Tim Hyatt as I am 8 miles from Cheltenham.

    S-westerly.
I was also using riders but have defected to Ducati Coventry which is the same distance for me as riders Bristol.

    Clanger,
Looks to be : Unit 3 Battledown Indust Estate, Saxon Way, Cheltenham. GL52 6RU
    07899 685625

Tim was a working for a Ducati dealer at one time before going out on his own. Feedback seems to be that he is very competitive by comparison and his work is excellent but he is a one man band and can be difficult to get hold off

If you do use him before I do (next year) I would be interested to hear about the experience

Had an oil leak shortly after my first service too. Turned out the oil filter had come a bit loose. All they had to do was tighten it back up and I was good to go.

Bought some oil, finally found a flat bit of ground, put the bike on the centre stand and the oil level was perfect. So I now have some 'just in case' oil.
