Purchase options for Ducati Workshop Manual?

I have always purchased a workshop manual for every motorcycle I have owned.  Even if not completing my own maintenance, it provides excellent reference for torque specifications, understanding services I am having performed, and improving knowledge of the mechanical makeup of the bike.

I was a bit puzzled that the dealer could not locate a part number to purchase a workshop manual from Ducati.  I reached out to Ducati customer service and received a response indicating they only distribute such documentation to their trained technical staff. 

Is this the norm for Ducati?  This is the first one I have owned.  At least they were prompt in their reply.  If anyone has experience chasing down a workshop manual, I welcome your feedback.

While in for my first service, I asked around the shop about workshop manual availability.  They confirmed that Ducati not longer offers service manuals for public distribution.  Because the model is so new, they did not have either a paper or DVD version released to them yet.  To complete my service, they logged in to a Ducati authorized service site and worked with an online version.  I tried groveling, begging,    for a right click...save as PDF, but the answer was "no."  They did offer to lookup basic info for casual maintenance torque specs whenever I want.  Better than nothing, I suppose.

You've got a two year warranty and break down cover. I'm a mechanic but would't dream of touching mine whilst warranty is valid.

My last Ducati was a 1991 907IE that I had for 14 years. At the time I was checking/adjusting the valves every 10k km and the timing belt at every 20k km or 2 years. I just downloaded the maintenance manual for the 2015 hypermotard to check on service intervals. (Same 939 engine isn't it?) Its says that the valves should be done every 30k km, that's great and that I knew but I was surprised to read that the belt should be changed at every 30k km also but no time limit! Is that right?  What about if you have the bike for 10 years and have less than 30k km? Should you change the belt? When did Ducati removed the time limit on the cam belts?

Ok so thank you Google!   So in the early 90th, Ducati added Kevlar to the belts and from then the belts changed went from 2 years/20k km to 5 year/30 k km but only on some model. Now I know.
