    New Triumph Scrambler 1200 - I'm tempted

You may know that in addition to Ducati's I love Triumph's too, being lucky enough to have a fantastic Triumph Thruxton R in my garage (in addition to the Multi).

My Thruxton will be 3 years old this summer.

Although I still love the Thruxton to bits I have a scratch to change it for another Triumph.

I must admit I am rather taken with this...

Awaiting my local Triumph dealer to let me know when the demo model arrives. I'll let you know my thoughts.

All the initial reviews are all saying its a fantastic bike

That looks a great choice Wassers.
I love the Scramblers and love the 1100 Ducati too.
I wish I could have 2 bikes...i would have either a scrambler or the Kwak 900 RS cafe racer 👍

The Desert Sled has turned my eye...

Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

Really! To my eyes, that shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as the Thruxton R. Still, as is said, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder “

And I’m looking forward to riding the 650 Continental GT. Whether the twin will have as much charm as my single remains to be seen.

Enjoy the test-ride and let us know how it goes!
It is apparently genuinely decent off road. It is also reasonably powerful with a similar engine to the Thruxton.

However, in a second bike, i don't need either of those things, so if I wanted a Triumph in that style, I would be looking at the Street Scrambler instead, for £2,500 less.

But motorcycles are one of those things that the heart wants what the heart once and there's no point trying to apply reason to such a purchase.

To prove my point, and demonstrate how little my opinion should be worth, I am currently just about resisting the urge put my Xmas bonus towards one of these. Smiles per £££ ratio through the roof!
