    Greetings from Atlanta..

Made the deposit on an MS 950S today..I rode bikes through college and my 20's; 25 years later I'm a newly-minted safety foundation grad and figured, what the heck, let's not start small...I've been racing bicycles for the last nearly 20 years - I hope it helps!

The dealership didn't have a clue about how long for delivery and their calls to the Ducati rep went unanswered while I was in the shop.  I'm expecting it could be mid-Spring before I actually have the bike.  If anyone has any insight in this regard, please give a shout.

I fully realize I'm combining a lot of motorcycle and a terrible city to ride in with my inexperience.  I'll check back in when I have anything insightful to say about my progress.  Until then, I'll be reading a whole lot threads in this forum for pre-flight wisdom.

    Thanks,

    C

    Thanks for the replies, friends..

SNAFU.  I got a message mid-evening from the sales rep; MS 950 S for '19 is only coming to the US with the spoked wheel option.  It looks like it's an $800 bump in price, plus the wheels add 10 pounds(near as I can tell from the website).  Also, the tires are different; according to the reviews of the bike after it was introduced last year; the spoked-wheels version's are more suited to off-road.  The tire specifics may have changed; I won't know until I talk to the shop rep.

I am ambivalent about the styling/added weight of the spoked wheels.  The additional cost is something I'll want to negotiate further with the dealer. The tire issue is a going to need resolution which might be as simple as I don't have my facts straight.  I might be at an impasse with Ducati but will report back.

Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

So I'm gonna get to ride a Ducati, after all...price/tire issues worked out without me having to do anything.  But no bike delivery until April..

    I picked the red one...

    Best to all..

Glad you got it sorted alltom1.

Now the tough bit.... having to wait until April.

But at least it turned February today.
