My bike will be 2 years old at the beginning of March and due to breaking my finger last May it only has 13k miles on the clock so, do I have to have the 2yr/18k service done now or when she gets to 18k ?

I would wait until the 18000 miles was up as you warranty will run out now anyhow unless you have extended it.

Agree totally. Pretty pointless having the belts changed at 13000 miles.

Strange you should say this, I booked mine in today for late March.....I was told if it’s done under 9k it’s one service, over 9k it’s a different service & over 18k it’s the Desmo service
I’ve done less than 9k 2yr old £280 all in unless additional work in needed

I got the extended warranty FOC when brought bike new

You need to service yearly irrespective of mileage.

I'm having my 2yr service on 8th March. Just over 10k miles. It'll need an air filter change so will cost around £250
The Desmo service isn't required until 18k and my dealer told me its not tied in to any yearly restriction. Hope that helps

    Thanks for replies.
So I need to book a service as  my bikes 2yrs old but it’ll be a ‘9k’ one and the belts won’t require changing till I actually exceed 18 k miles 👍🏻
I also have extended warranty (2 additional years) but paid for it 🙄.

The two year service is simply a two year service. The 18,000 mile service they refer to as the "desmo service" where they do the belts etc.

I don't know what a two year service involves but it wouldn't surprise me if it's just a look over to check everything's safe and as it should be, with an oil change.
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

Had my 2 year service done today at Ducati Alton. Brilliant service from those guys as usual.

£260 all in which included a new air filter (which was well and truelly clogged up!). Also included realigning the aux lights as one light had dropped slightly.

As the 950s demo bike isn't available yet, I loaned the 1100 Scrambler. It was an ok bike. Nothing special. Very firm ride. Surprisingly a bit gutless for an 1100, but the sound was brilliant!

Had an absolute blast riding back home on the MTS. Don't know if it was due to having a freshly serviced bike, or because I had just ridden the Scrambler, but kept thinking to myself, what an awesome bike the MTS is.

I think that every time I ride mine. Best bike I’ve owned, by a mile!

My two year service next Tuesday.
Two years have flown over, normally at this stage I get itchy feet and start to look for a replacement bike but not this time.

Don't know if I will feel the same come the 18k service
