Waiting to board the Santander ferry at Portsmouth.

Bloomin cold and wet riding here, 4C showing on the dash. Can only get better over the next two weeks. I'll let you know if there is snow over the Picos mountains....it's forecast 😞

Oh Oh - looks like rain in Santander  :012:

Neil - hope you manage to dodge the showers. Have you arrived yet?

Neil - When you visit Porto I can recommend this restaurant (Taberninha do Manel). You can find it just over the Porto bridge on the river front.

I've eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and know the owner (Andre) very well. Andre is a biker too (rides a Moto Guzzi) and he will talk bikes for hours if you let him (probably over a free beer too). If you do visit, tell him Mark says hello!

Looks good, Mark, but I'm not planning on going to Porto. Still at sea....effing "technical problems" mean we don't make Santander for another hour. Just passed through black skies and lashing rain but it's sunny where we're headed.

I've got about 80iles to ride into the Picos to my hotel. Hoping to do it in the dry.

It's now 10.55 pm and I've just ridden the 85 miles from Santander to. Cervera de Pisuerga through blizzards and temperature down to -2C....welcome to sunny Spain! Nicely warmed up in my hotel room and hoping it will warm up a bit tomorrow. Hadn't planned on rising this late at night but the ferry was two hours late due to technical problems.
Time for a good night's sleep now. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
