    Keyless Fuel Cap

Ok all you 950S owners - has anyone gone for the keyless fuel cap?

If I had a keyless bike it would 'do my nut in'  having to get the key out just to unlock the fuel cap  :087:

I guess if you are touring and you have the panniers then you will need the key anyway but yes I see your point.
Will be interesting to see if that gets to me over time.
Not sure how much that upgrade is?

Looking out the window at the wind and rain and feeling a little frustrated that I can’t get out on the bike.
    Tomorrow hopefully.

In practice it's not really much different to taking the key out of the ignition to undo the fuel cap.

It annoys me more getting the key out to get my locks from under the seat as I do that more often and would normally already have the key in my hand from putting steering lock on. It is also a bigger key so less room under there. Ideally keyhole should be up top and seat on an hinge.

Totally get that YoungF, but the key is readily available when in the ignition key, so that's pretty easy. When you've got a keyless bike you will have to find somewhere to keep the key to unlock the fuel cap everytime you fuel up.

Thing is I cant find an official Ducati keyless fuel cap as an available extra on their configurater website, but I think there is one available.

Has anyone seen it and know what the price is?  :027:

If the fuel cap is the same as the 1200 the price is £222.99 from Ducati Manchester and I cannot see it being cheaper because its a 950.
Also when ever I go abroad I always use a lanyard around my neck for my key so this might be the way to go.

It's about £220 and can be fitted after purchase, the wiring is built in same as heated grips and satnav but I think tank cover has to come off.

You have the key in your pocket otherwise bike won't run, while you're filling up it's in the cap, when you put key back in your pocket you get your wallet out.

I suggest you search the subject on forums by 1200/1260 owners, more to it than meets the eye, especially if you lose your key...

Sounds to me like you're spec’ing one up Wassers?
