I'm not yet an owner of an MTS 950 but it will not be long!
I had tried the Multi Enduro 1200 in September and had concluded that it was too powerful and too sporty for me, although the qualities of handling and ease of driving had excited me, but really a motor too pushes To the crime (and still the afficionados of the Multi say that it is too soft compared to the first multis!).
And here is a Multi 950 (939 exactly) comes out and attracts my attention, sensible that I am Italian design. I really enjoyed this essay!
Powerful and alive motor (it grows strong and looks without inertia) and flexible with it. One does not spend his time changing his relationship, even in town he does not boggle about a bi-cylinder. A pleasure to drive that I did not know (not old in the craft) both the angle is easy and the accurate course of the course, a real bike. An efficient suspension, which contains the irregularities of the road and provides a certain comfort, even if it is a little drier than on the Vstrom.
The clutch is extremely easy, and the ride by wire is perfect, never to accouple the go-around. Box pretty dry but it must be ripped. We are really close to the no-fault with this gear. The only thing, vibrations are felt at high speed (+ 130).
I am really impressed by this bike.
To compare it to the Africa Twin, I would say that they have similarities: Easy driving, engine available and cycle part very easy and precise and good comfort. The Multi goes at least a little further on 3 points: the motor character (one takes almost for Rossi!), Comfort, especially saddle, and ease in the virolos.
Finally the noise (or the sound depending on whether it attaches importance or not):
The one of the multi is more present, discreet in slow motion and more and more furious then, it participates in the racing atmosphere. At high speed, however, it remains bearable.
Moving from the Vstrom to one of these 2 is access to lively and precise cycle parts, coupled motors and successful designs in their respective genres.
The impression of going from a quiet and comfortable navigation to another, more addictive thanks to new pleasures of riding !
