Yes, they work 😊
Yesterday morning, loading my bags into the panniers, with the bike very close to vertical on its sidestand, I pushed too hard on the left side bag and the bike gracefully toppled over. Damage: a bit of scraping on the crashbar, handlebar protector and right side pannier box. All cosmetic and nothing broken. Phew!

Panniers are a crash protector in themselves, but check the pannier......does it rattle or more more than it did??? if so like mine the little plastic edges inside where the pannier lugs go into the frame brake very easy & they are part of the rear section at a cost of £250 + labour

Was it easy getting the bike up afterwards?
Are you filling your panniers up with too many touring souvenirs???

I've loaded my panniers many times on the sidestand and never had a problem.
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.
