    Iron Butt Challenge

Who wants to join me in trying this endurance challenge????

for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, the the iron butt association (its a real thing ........google it ) consists of many distance endurance challenges, the entry challenge is called sadle sore 1000 ( and has nothing to do with a sexual act.....DIRTY MINDS :192: ) you have to ride 1000 documented miles with in 24hrs, some of you may be saying that's easy...... TRY IT!!!!!!!

maybe if you live in a massive country.....like trump land  :150: where you have interstates for 1000 miles, BUT our little island you would have to do the entire length of the M6 4 TIMES & still have 80 miles left to go.......STILL THINK ITS EASY?????

its takes military style planning for fuel stops ( will they be open when you get there??? ) how will you stay hydrated, eat, sleep or use the toilet

your average speed needs to be 47mph, every time you stop @ a red light or waiting @ a roundabout its eating into your average

    STILL WANT TO PLAY!!!!!!!!

Iron Butt has been around for decades and I've known people who have risen to the challenge. In my opinion, and only my opinion, it is a totally pointless exercise. I like to ride to places and see new sights on the way. The most I have done in recent years is about 800 miles in a day; the thought of 1000 miles fills me with dread and, at my age, I doubt I'd have the stamina. I'll leave it to you fit, younger ones.

Should anything unfortunate happen on your intrepid adventure, that would ultimately require the services of your insurance company....I do wonder how they would view it...taking into account fatigue and their perception of excessive speeds etc...the cynic in me says you might be up a 1000 mile creek without said paddle

I've thought about doing it. I'd at least be willing to have a go. Probably fail dismally but I'd have fun in the doing.

I was thinking of this also.   Just for the kick in the head.
Probably plan 500 out and then circle back so I end up in my own shower and bed.
